Madeline Mackey Taylor a lifelong resident of Boothville, LA transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Ochsner Hospital Westbank. God blessed her to live 105 years. She was born on July 7, 1913 to the union of the late Thomas and Antoinette Henry Mackey.

She was a longtime member and mother of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Boothville and was the oldest known living resident of Plaquemines Parish, LA. She is the widow of the late Deacon Saxion Taylor.

Beloved and devoted mother of Estelle (late Robert Sr.) Coleman, Thelma Bernadine (late Wesley) Riley, Beatrice (Hewitt Sr.) Prout, Joann Smith, Benjamin (Caffie) Taylor Sr., Stanley Taylor Sr., Norma Smith, Bruce (Louise) Taylor, Roxann (Floyd Sr.) Jones, Celeste Green, and the late Carroll (late Elaine) Taylor Sr., Annette T. Smith and Wilfred Taylor Sr. Sister of Ethel Mackey Ward and the late Alexandrine Jones, Augustine Brooks, Irma Francois, Gustavia Evans, Alberta Dabon, John, Joseph, Freddie, Mack, Thomas and James Mackey. Mrs. Taylor was also blessed with 53 grandchildren, 140 great grandchildren, 155 great great grandchildren and 5 great great great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. She is also predeceased by 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and 3 great great great grandchildren.

“Be Thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life” Rev. 2:10 Relatives and friends of the family, Pastor, officers and members of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Zion Hill C.O.G.I.C., First Mount Zion Baptist Church of Empire and all neighboring churches of Plaquemines Parish and Ascension Parish are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church 39752 Hwy 23 Boothville, LA 70038 at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Dr. Theodore Turner Jr. officiating.

Entombment will follow in Tropical Bend Cemetery Empire, LA. The Taylor family will receive guest for a visitation on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 6p.m. until 9p.m. at Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 Hwy 23 Belle Chasse, LA 70037.
