OBITUARY Mrs. Mae (Copeland) Parkinson February 22, 1923 – October 5, 2018 Mrs. Maye C. Parkinson, 95, of Union City, passed away on October 5, 2018. She worked at the Federal Archives in East Point for several years. A graduate of Valdosta Women’s College, Mrs. Parkinson worked for Department of Agriculture in Macon where she met her husband, Kenneth R. Parkinson.

She was later a substitute teacher for Fulton County School System and a parapro for hearing impaired students. She also worked many years in the Federal Archives in East Point. A former member for over 50 years at the Hapeville Presbyterian Church, she was a member of the Fayette Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Parkinson enjoyed sewing and volunteering at South Fulton Medical Center, Southwest Christian Care, and the Christian City Library. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her twin sister, Faye Wisenbaker, and sister, Margaret Harris. She is survived by her sons, Ken Parkinson, Jr. and Bruce C. Parkinson (Karen); daughter, Janis P. Snipes; grandchildren, Mark Snipes, Mary Snipes Jones (Andrew); Lauren Parkinson; Kelsey Parkinson; Shane McElroy (Chi Chi); Meaghan Childs (Jake); great grandchildren, Emma Jones, Wyatt McElroy, and Ethan McElroy; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10 at Fayette Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alex Moses officiating with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens following the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
