Mae Dell (Scheffer) Thielemann March 06, 1933 – March 04, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Mae Dell (Scheffer) Thielemann, 85, of Brenham, passed away on March 4, 2019, in Brenham. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral for Mae Dell Thielemann will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, with Pastor Skip Stutts officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mae was born March 6, 1933, in the Sandy Hill community, Washington County, Texas, to Charles and Henrietta (Buerger) Scheffer. She was baptized April 2, 1933 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church by Rev.

George Czerkus and was confirmed March 30, 1947 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church by Rev W. C. Poehlmann. On June 6, 1954, she married Eugene Thielemann in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. Her family was very important to her, especially her granddaughters.

Mae was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of La Marque, Texas and St. Peter Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, participating in the woman’s church groups, and serving with Gene as a Luther League sponsors for several years. Mae was a homemaker who loved to cook, bake, garden, sew and quilt.

She and Gene enjoyed dancing, playing pitch and dominos with their friends, traveling and getting the family together. Mae was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cared and loved her family very much. The family is very grateful to all of the Kruse Village staff, especially the nursing care team, and the care of the Hospice nurses during her stay at Kruse Village for the past nine months.

We truly appreciate the love and care you gave to our mom. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Connie (Bauer) Thielemann of Giddings and Duane and Jeannie (Reeves) Thielemann of Santa Fe; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Mike Akins of Pace, FL; grandchildren, Nicole Paul and husband Chris, Natalie Thielemann, Jenna Akins, Riley Akins, Faith Thielemann, Jessica Thielemann and Samantha Thielemann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Thielemann; her parents; Charles and Henrietta Scheffer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Ida Thielemann; brothers and sisters, Arthur and Gladys Scheffer, Alvin and Minnie Scurlock, Edward and Carrie Scheffer and Raymond and Eleanor Tielke; brother-in-law, Leroy Thielemann; niece Connie Tielke and nephews, James Scheffer, Floyd Scheffer and Gary Scheffer Pallbearers will be Billy Scheffer, Charles Scheffer, Rayburn Klussmann, Ernie Weatherby, Jay Alexander and James Scheffer.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of her granddaughters. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill general fund or any other charitable organization. Funeral arrangements for Mae Thielemann are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham, TX, 979-836-4564.
