Obituary for Mafalda Connie DiFrancesco Mafalda “May” DiFrancesco, Beautiful Wife, Mother, and Matriarch of the DiFrancesco Family went home to be with the Lord in Heaven on May 11, 2018. Mafalda was born on December 20, 1927 in Bronx, NY to Vito and Margherita Sacco. She married Joseph Michael DiFrancesco on November 4, 1946.
They moved to Fort Pierce in 1952 and started what turned out to be a huge and loving family of 10 children, 33 Grandchildren, and 30 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren. May, as she was known to everyone, touched so many lives during her magnificent life. She was an amazing cook and loved to prepare huge meals for her family; meatballs or lasagna.
Whatever she was cooking, when you came to the door the smell of Italian cooking would bring a smile to your face. She loved to bowl, play card games, and slot machines. Mom sang like an angel and would serenade each and every one of her children on their birthday.
Her dog, Dory, was always by her side. May is survived by her loving husband of seventy-one and a half years, Joseph DiFrancesco; her daughters, Margherita (John) Sagy, Linda French, and Nancyann Harris; her sons, Joseph (JoBeth), Johnny (Linda), Michael (Carol), Tony (Nicole), and Steven (Jenny). May will be reunited in Heaven with her sons, Richard and Patrick; her parents, Vito and Margherita Sacco; her sisters, Marion Pizzurro and Marie Fortunato; and her brother, Frank.
The DiFrancesco Family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the sympathy, comforting words and prayers from everyone. We would like to ask in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to Treasure Coast Hospice who helped our Mother with her peaceful transition to Heaven. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Haisley Funeral Home from 6PM – 8PM with a service to be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 10AM at the Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road Fort Pierce, Florida 34947.
