Obituary for Major Carlton Major Carlton, 78, of Lake Village, AR passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019. Major was born in Lake Village, AR on July 25, 1940 to the late Aubrey and Evelyn Parker Carlton. Major attended Central High School.

He was a longtime truck driver for Terra Chemical Company. Major loved to watch western shows on TV. He was a very wise man and loved his family.

Major was a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Village, AR. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vertis Hudson Carlton; son, Darner Brown; sisters, Shirley Carlton, Mary Carlton and Esther Hayes; brothers, A.G. Carlton, Aubrey Carlton, Jr. and Willie Fisher. Survivors include his sons, Melvin Brown of Lake Village, AR, Willie Ray Carlton of Pine Bluff, AR and Lawrence Brown of Camden, AR; daughters, Angora Carlton of Tupelo, MS and Frankie Smith of Greenville, MS; brothers, John Carlton of Lake Village, AR, Larry L. Carlton of San Antonio, TX and Gregory D. Carlton of Lake Village, AR; sisters, Joanne Branch of Lake Village, AR, Evelyn Kazee of Lake Village, AR and Susan C. Dickson of Lake Village, AR; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held 10:30am-11:30am Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Village, AR. Funeral services will follow at 11:30am at the church with Rev. Eugene Thomas officiating.
