Manuel Francisco Amaral Bento, 86, of Atwood Ave. , No. Providence, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Miriam Hospital, Thursday, Feb.

28, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Maria do Carmo (Machado) Bento. Born Jan.

11, 1933, in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel Melquiades Melo Bento and the late Conceicao Amaral Bento. In addition to his wife of 60 years, he leaves his children, Robert Bento of No. Providence, Michelle Mosca and her husband Louis Jr. of Cranston, and Carla Kenahan and her husband Charles of Newport; and his grandchildren, Giancarlo, Kian, Sean, Trevor and Luke.

His funeral will begin Tuesday, March 5, at 9:45am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave, No. Providence. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 8:30am until 9:45am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are greatly appreciated to Duke University Pediatrics, Pompe Disease Research, c/o Dr. Priya Kishnani, 324 Blackwell St., Durham, NC 27701. Please indicate the gift is in honor of Mia Hanley.
