Marcella’s Obituary Marcella Jean Winter, nee Witvoet, age 78, of Rossmoor, CA, passed away January 21, 2019. Beloved wife of Alan J. Winter. Dearest mother of Michael David (Kelly) Winter and Helene Margaret (Woody) Winter.

Proud grandmother of Sierra Winter Woods, Tracker Charles Woods, and Kylie Grace Winter. Loving sister of John (Audrey) Witvoet and Bert (June) Witvoet. Kind aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents Bert and Helen Witvoet. Visitation Friday, March 15, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30/Pleasant Springs Ln.

) Dyer, IN, with Rev. Cal Aardsma officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.

Marcie grew up in South Holland, IL, attended Calvin Christian School and Illiana Christian High School. She went on to study at Calvin College and nursing school in Grand Rapids. After graduating from Blodgett Hospital as an RN, Marcie worked in a variety of nursing disciplines in the United States and England.

In England she worked at St. Thomas’s Hospital founded by Florence Nightingale. Upon return to the United States in 1974, she worked in nursing for a number of years until she obtained her real estate license in Orange County, California. Marcie enjoyed hiking, skiing, bicycling, coaching her daughter’s soccer team, and traveling with her family.

She was a beautiful wife, dedicated mother and a loving grandmother. Marcie had a strong faith. Memorial donations in Marcie’s memory may be given to “New Horizons Mission” to support a school in Warpal Chutta, Pakistan being renamed “The Marcie Winter Christian School”.
