Marcia was born in Clinton, Indiana on August 17, 1936 to her parents, Robert Stanley Luce and Charlotte Ballow Stone Luce. The family journeyed west to Oregon on the train in 1942 when Marcia was 6 years old.

Marcia graduated from Milwaukie High School, in Milwaukie, Oregon in 1954. She was described as having everlasting kindness in her high school yearbook. Marcia married Ronald Leslie Brandy in 1957.

Their daughter, Kathleen Elaine, was born in 1957. Marcia moved to Kennewick, Washington in the late 1970’s. She worked as a Medicare Clerk at Kennewick General Hospital.

Brant A. Hill became her life partner and an important part of her life for over 30 years, until his death in 2008. Marcia’s later life presented many challenges as her Huntington’s Disease progressed and she lost her independence. She always was happy to see you and had a big smile on her face, no matter how she was feeling.

She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Elaine Hawkins in 2006, her older sister, Charlotte Marian Dugger in 1988, her life partner, Brant Hill, and her beloved horse, Buttercup. Marcia is survived by her granddaughter, Mariah Bandy of Hermiston, Oregon and three great grandchildren who she never knew of or met because of her granddaughter Mariah’s estrangement as Marcia’s health failed. Marcia’s wish was that this hereditary disease in her family would end with her.

She is also survived by Sandy Hill Kuffel and husband, John and their sons, Nick and Matt and her very faithful friend to the end, Karen Recher. Marcia and Karen shared a love of horses and rode together over the years. Thanks to Avalon Healthcare in Pasco and to Omniguardianship, Marci, Nancy and Armelia.

At her request, no services will be held and her ashes will be scattered at her favorite spot on the Oregon Coast. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Marcia Bandy please visit our Sympathy Store.
