Mardy received the UMSL School of Business Administration Anheuser Busch Marketing Award in April, 1985. Besides being an avid golfer, her many exceptional artistic talents included stitchery, gardening sewing and upholstery, woodworking and creating stunning stained glass artwork.

She loved taking trips with her stitchery friends to visit regional shops and exhibitions. As a member of her garden club, she especially enjoyed delivering flowers to local nursing home residents on their birthdays.
