Margaret Evans October 16, 1933 – April 26, 2019 October 16, 1933~April 26, 2019 Margaret Irene Powell Evans Funeral services will be conducted for Margaret Irene Powell Evans, 85, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 2p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi with visitation beginning at 9:00AM. Burial will follow at Louin Cemetery, in Louin Mississippi. A native of Houston, Texas.

Margaret resided in New Iberia, Louisiana, Mrs, Evans passed away peacefully on Friday April 26, 2019, at 7:50am at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home in Saint Martinville, Louisiana and will be laid to rest along side her husband JC at Louin Cemetery in Louin, Mississippi. To know “Mug” as she was lovingly called, was to know a woman with a beautiful heart and a smile to match. She could out cook, sew, can, fish, work, play and anything else she put her mind to.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones while cooking up a family meal for all to enjoy. We were so blessed to know and love her. We will always cherish the memories we had together.

She is survived by her Step daughter Barbara Ann Snearly and husband William of Henderson, Nevada; son Glenn Ray Evans and wife Alyson of Saint Martinville, Louisiana, son James “Bo” Evans and wife Maureen of Tomball, Texas; son Billy Glenn “Boogie” Evans and wife Kristi of Delcambre, Louisiana. 7 grandchildren, Windi Boales and husband Eric, Erica Evans, Claire Broussard and husband Trevor, Caleb Evans and wife Kristynn , Mason Evans, Ian Evans and Carley Evans. 5 great-grandchildren; Aiden Gary, Adison Gary, Baylen Bulliard, Wyatt Broussard and Whitley Evans.

4 Step-grandchildren, Joshua Melancon, Meagan Borel, Brad Hudson and wife Dina, and Bailey Schoggin. 2 great step-grandchildren, Holden Hudson and Melanie Garcia. Along with her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband James “JC” Coleman Evans of Louin, Mississippi ; her sister Ruby Kirby, her brother Bill Powell, and her brother Walter Powell all natives of Houston, Texas.
