Margaret I. Spangler, 71, of Loves Park, passed away at PA Peterson at the Citadel on April 12, 2018. Born June 26, 1946, in Rockford, the daughter of Eugene C. & Nellie (Logli) Wilson. Graduated from Rockford East High School, class of 1964.

Later she earned her Bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois and then her Master’s degree from Rockford University. Married Gary L. Spangler in Rockford on June 22, 1968. She taught in the Rockford Public School District at John Nelson Elementary… Read More » School for many years, retiring in 2010.

She was also a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Survivors include her loving husband, Gary; children, Gregory (Melissa) Spangler and Cheryl (Brett) Merrick, 6 grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 special friends. Funeral mass will be 10 am Thursday, April 19, 2018 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave, Loves Park, IL.

Visitation from 6-8 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. , Rockford, IL and from 9 am until the time of mass Thursday. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory.
