Margaret L. Graff, 90, of Beatrice passed away at Beatrice Good Samaritan on Friday, July 20, 2018. She was born on December 3, 1927 at Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945. She attended McCook Junior College and the University of Nebraska where she was studying to be a dietician.

She has been a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beatrice. She was active in the church Altar Society Circle 7 and the Over 55 Club of the parish. She was a charter member of the Nebraska State Genealogical Society as well as the local Southeast Nebraska Genealogical Society, serving for a time on both boards.
She was a member of the Gage County Historical Society, and the Monthly Minglers Extension Club. She led a 4-H Club in Gage County for 11 years, was a volunteer for years at St. Joseph’s Church and school, the Red Cross Bloodmobile, the Homestead National Monument, and served for over 30 years on the Election Board. Margaret and Bob served as parish chairpersons for the sponsoring of a Polish refugee family.
When only the father arrived initially they took him into their home until the mother and two young girls arrived 13 months later. With much parish help, the family was able to become established. Survivors include her husband, Robert of Beatrice; three sons, Stephen, Fairbury, Mark Graff and wife Marcia, Omaha, and Timothy Graff and wife Mary, Lincoln; two daughters, Eileen Atkinson and husband Richard, St. Cloud, Florida and Kathryn Bass and husband Thomas, Swanton; daughter-in-law, Kay McLaughlin Graff, Walton; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is sister-in-law, Joyce Arthaud, White Bear Lake, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Hougnon Arthaud; one son, Willard Graff; one grandson, Scott Graff; one daughter-in-law, Jeanniene Graves Graff. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Joseph, Cyril and wife Catherine, Vincent and wife Catherine, Raymond and Paul Arthaud; sisters, Mary Eleanor, Jeanette and Agnes Arthaud and Sister M. Barbara, O.P. Arthaud and her beloved twin sister, Mary Colling who passed away on April 14, 2016 and her husband, Francis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Beatrice on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. with Father Robert Barnhill and Father Paul Colling as Concelebrants. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery of Beatrice. A Scriptural Rosary Service will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 6:30 P.M. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Beatrice.
The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday and not at the church on Monday. A memorial has been established to the St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Tri County Educational Foundation. www.
