Margaret, “Peg”, McGuire passed away on May 21, 2019, in Torrington CT, at the Valerie Manor where she had been a resident for the past few years after moving from New Haven CT. The staff at Valerie Manor have been wonderful and supportive to Margaret during the years she lived there. Margaret was the wife of the late John P. McGuire of North Haven CT.

She is survived by her beloved son and his family; John McGuire, wife Elizabeth McGuire of Torrington Ct. , her granddaughter Justina McGuire of Torrington CT and grandson John Anthony McGuire of New Haven Ct. She is also survived by sister in law and friend Barbara Malone and sister in law; Rosemary Malone-Harkins.

In addition she is survived by her loving nieces, nephews and their families, having a special relationship with those who visited her on a regular basis and or called her regularly. Margaret was born in New Haven Ct. on November 22, 1922, daughter of the late Raymond(NHPD) and Jane Flanagan Malone.

She was proceeded in death by husband John P. McGuire, brothers: Joseph Malone, Robert Malone (NHPD), Raymond Malone (NHFD), John Malone (NHFD), and brother in laws: James McGuire (IRS) and Joseph McGuire (teacher). Margaret along with her husband John, were deeply involved with the Lancraft Fife and Drum Corps of North Haven CT for years. Growing up she, lived in the Hill section of New Haven, then Fair Haven, North Haven and for years in Bella Vista in New Haven CT.

At Bella Vista she was involved in many social activities with the Bella Vista seniors. Margaret worked at Seamless Rubber in New Haven in a desire to contribute to the war effort. She also worked for years at Summerdale Cigar company in North Haven Ct.

She was strong willed and acted as mentor, and friend to many people and their families. Margaret had a wonderful sense of humor and keen understanding of current events and loved to read. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Ave.

, North Haven CT at 10 am on Friday May 31, 2019. followed by burial services at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Sisk Brothers Funeral Home 3105 Whitney Ave.
