Obituary for POeggy Margaret M. Pons, 91, passed away April 4, 2018 at her home in Rutherford surrounded by her family & caregivers. Margaret was born March 6, 1927 in Passaic and lived in Rutherford her entire life. She was a retired Physical Education teacher for the Lyndhurst Public School system.

She was an active member of the Community of Gods Love, The Church of Saint Mary, the Rosary Guild and St. Alfonso’s Retreat House. She was a lifelong member of the Green Mountain Club, Camp Thendara, the Appalachian Club and the Sierra Club. Margaret received her BS from Panzer School of Physical Education, and her Masters from NYU and Montclair Stare University.

She was vivacious and loved by many. She enjoyed the outdoors, travel, sports, her faith, close friends and her daily routine. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Etienne and Catherine Pons and her brother Adrian Pons.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-5pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave. , Rutherford.

Funeral Monday 8:30am from funeral home for 9:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside Queens, NY In Lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to: WLYN TV 270 South Service Rd.
