The obituary for Mrs. Sellers is shared as a courtesy to her family and son, Brad Sellers who worked for many years in Wadesboro. Ruby, SC Mrs. Margaret R. Sellers, age 91, entered into rest on Monday, October 22, 2018. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev.

Dewayne Evans and Rev. Mack Mullis with burial to follow in the Mt. Croghan Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Sellers was born April 3, 1927 to parents Ralph K. and Martha Summerford Rivers. She graduated from Mt.

Croghan High School – Class of 1945, valedictorian of her class. Prior to her marriage to Gene Sellers in 1954, she was employed as a payroll specialist at Springs Industries. After the birth of their 3 sons she became a fulltime homemaker.

An avid reader, Margaret enjoyed traveling, her “Friends” club, cooking, and spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed bird watching, working with her flowers, trying out new recipes and sharing her culinary delights with her friends. A member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, Margaret served as Sunday school teacher, WMU President, materials officer, and member of the Associational Executive Committee.

She was also a member of the Pageland Order of the Eastern Star. She had formerly served on the Mt. Croghan Town Council, as a member of the beautification committee, and most recently a member of the Senior Circle Chorus.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joe, Kemp, George, Lester, and James Rivers; and sister, Grace Rivers Sellers. Survivors include her devoted husband of 64 years, Charles E. “Gene” Sellers of the home; sons, Al (Shannon) Sellers of Chesterfield, SC, Brad (Ginger) Sellers of Wingate, NC, Chris (Judy) Sellers of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Adam (Madeline) Sellers, Julie (Jonathan) Jackson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Matt Sellers of Wingate, NC, Mollie S. Willis of Nashville, NC and Ben E. Willis of Rocky Mount, NC, Spencer Sellers, and Courtney Sellers both of Cheraw, SC; 2 great grandchildren, Nathan Jackson and Tate Willis; sisters-in-law, Katherine “Kitty” Rivers of Hartsville, SC, Marie Rivers of Hendersonville, NC, and Julia Rae Rivers of Chesterfield, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Rachel Helms. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Novinger and the staff of Palmetto Family Medicine; the staff of Cheraw Healthcare, the staff of McLeod Hospital Cheraw & Florence, and the staff of McLeod Hospice House for the loving care shown to Mrs. Margaret and her family.
