Obituary for Mrs. Margaret Waldron “Maggie” Maggie Waldron (formerly Maggie Watts Riley of Philadelphia, PA) died at INOVA Heart and Vascular Institute, Falls Church, Virginia, on April 10, 2018. A cardiac problem that arose a week before was the cause of her death. Maggie married her high school sweetheart John Waldron in July 2017 and moved to Burke, VA.
Before that, she lived her entire life in or near the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late Elmo Waldo Watts and Joan McKenna of Philadelphia. Maggie had three children of whom she was immensely proud; daughters Katharine “Kaci” Watts of Philadelphia and Mary “Molly” and Megan Riley, who lived with Maggie in Burke.
Maggie also had two minor grandchildren, Michaela and Joey Bianchi, both of Philadelphia. Maggie is also survived by her brother Kevin Watts, also of Philadelphia. Maggie graduated from Mount Saint Joseph’s Academy in 1983 and from St. Joseph’s University with a B.A. in English in 1990.
She worked in the legal industry for her entire career, first as a legal secretary, and then as a paralegal at Pepper Hamilton LLP for more than 25 years. Since 2015, she was employed as a paralegal by Steve Harvey Law LLC in Philadelphia. During her career as a paralegal, Maggie assisted with the trial of many important cases in federal and state court.
Her colleagues joked that she had more trial experience than many law firm partners, and in fact that was true. Maggie is remembered for her dedication to family and friends, skill as a paralegal, and keen wit and sense of humor. To know her was to love her.
She had a tremendous heart. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2319 Green St., Philadelphia, PA, Wednesday, April 18 at 10 a.m. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening 6-9 PM at Dinan Funeral Home, 1923 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, Pennsylvania.
