Margarethe Hedwig Mesich passed away on October 22, 2018 in Gallup, New Mexico. At the age of 89. She was born on February 18, 1929 in Sinn, Germany to Rudolf Cunz and Paula Turk Cunz.

She was active with the Gallup Seniors Center. She enjoyed crocheting, shooting pool, for which she won numerous trophies, and she loved to bake her famous brownies. She was deeply loved by everyone that she knew, and will be missed very much.

She is survived by her sons Gary Mesich and his wife Annie, and Terry Mesich, her granddaughter Joanna Barreras, three great-grandchildren; Roman Barreras, Ryan Barreras, and Alianna Barreras, along with numerous other relatives in America and Germany. Mrs. Mesich was preceded in death by her husband Edward George Mesich, her parents Rudolf and Paula Cunz, her brother Gunther Cunz, and her sister Gerda Berger. On Monday October 29, 2018 at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 10:00 am Memorial Rosary will be recited, followed by a Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father Matt Keller.

Inurnment will take place at a later date. Pallbearers include; Gabriele Russell, Dawn Ann Livingston-Cooksey, Roman Barreras, Ryan Barreras, Alianna Barreras, and Joann Barreras Honorary pallbearers include; Every person who knew her as “Mom”. Cope Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
