OBITUARY Margene Virginia Harris April 1, 1927 – November 11, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Mrs. Margene Virginia Harris, age 91, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 1, 1927. She retired with over 30 years of service with BellSouth and was a volunteer with the Telephone Pioneers.

Mrs. Harris was an ordained Church of God Minister, was a member of the Connection Pointe Church of God, and was active in church and prison ministry. She worked with the Woman’s Shelter in Atlanta and opened her home to many needy people over the years. She served as President, as well as other offices, of AARP Sweetwater Chapter.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Eugene Harris; her parents, Thomas and Clarice Beavers; a brother, Charles Beavers; sisters, Doris Johnson and Mickey Stancliff; and brothers-in-law, Harold Johnson and Jimmy Stancliff. She is survived by her sister, Diane (Bill) Stephens of Villa Rica, Georgia; sister-in-law, Gloria Beavers Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.

The funeral service will be at Noon in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Doug New officiating. Musical selections rendered by Richard Seagraves. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
