Obituary of Margot E. Savage Margot E. Savage, age 89, of Whiting and formerly of New Egypt, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin. She was born in Friedburg, Germany to the late Johann and Anna Ilg on February 16, 1930. Margot worked as a seamstress for Hirsch Clothing Factory for several years.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crochet. She was also a wonderful baker and a cook and was known for her German potato salad. Margot was a proud member of the German American Club in Yardville.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed. Margot is predeceased by her parents, Johann and Anna Ilg (nee Ickert); by her adored husband Edward G. Savage and by daughter-in-law Diane Savage. She leaves behind her three children, Edward Savage and wife Teresa of Cary NC, Charles Savage of Port Deposit MD and Patsy Jordan and husband Rodger of Barnegat NJ; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 11AM to 1PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533. A service will begin at 1PM. Interment will be held private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margot’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
