OBITUARY Maria Concepción Fernandez de Padilla November 27, 1926 – October 31, 2018 Maria Concepción Fernandez de Padilla went to the Lord on October 31, 2018. She was born on November 27, 1926 in Barranquilla, Colombia, South America, to Teodulo Fernandez and Victoria Conrado. Mary would meet her future husband, Efrain Padilla Gamboa, by running him over one evening while running back and forth from her front porch watching a neighbor’s wedding festivities.

Over four years they became close friends and thee years later became engaged and married on September 25, 1949. She is survived by her children Elvira and her husband Arturo Blanco; Nurys, Nora, and Efrain Jr. and her youngest brother, Efrain. Her husband preceded her in death on February 25, 1985.

She is preceded in death by her siblings: Fernando, Elizabeth, Roberto, Wilfrido and Fanny Salazar. ¨La Niña Mary¨, as she was known to family and close friends, was an angel of God on Earth. She was adored by everyone that met her; she had a loving and welcoming heart open to everyone, and was a playful soul who loved a good time, gardening, cooking and dancing.

Her heart was as big as Texas, as she liked the saying.
