Obituary for Maria De Jesus Sotak On July 15, 2018, Maria De Jesus Espinoza Sotak passed away after a long illness at the age of 84. She was born in June 28, 1934 in Aguascalientes, Aguas Mexico. She immigrated to El Paso, married Donald Sotak and became a U.S. citizen.

She was very proud that she became a U.S. citizen. She sent for her children from Aguas Calientes and helped them to become U.S. citizens. She later divorced and as a single mother was able to keep her family together providing a home and education for her children.

She worked for JJ Newberry (La Newberry Chiquita) located in downtown for 30 years. She is survived by her children, Miguel Angel De La Torre (Victoria), Maria Huser (Ben) and Lidia Casas (Tito), Gustavo Rincon. She has many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was one of millions of immigrants who have come to America to seek a better life for her family. Visitation will held from 9:00am to 10:00am on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home West, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 5750 Doniphan Drive. Committal Service to follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley 4900 McNutt Road, Santa Teresa, NM.
