Maria Pytel, age 94, of Twin Lakes, WI, died Saturday evening, March 2, 2018 at the Froedtert South-St. Catherine’s Campus in Pleasant Prairie, WI. The former Maria Poswistak was born on February 2, 1925 in the Ukraine, the daughter of the late Jan and Elizabeth Poswistak. On December 23, 1945, in Germany, Maria was united in marriage to Peter Pytel.

Peter preceded her in death on April 10, 2017. Maria worked several jobs in Chicago before moving to Twin Lakes in 1976. She worked as a housekeeper for the Nippersink Resort.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and cooking. Maria is survived by: her son, Eugene of Twin Lakes, wI; daughter in law, Eileen Pytel of Oceanside, CA; 2 grandchildren, John and Maura; 4 great grandchildren, Eli, Joseph, Anthony and Andrew Paul.

She was preceded in death by a son, Paul on August 15, 2015. The Pytel Family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI.

Ukrainian Funeral Services will beheld at 10:30AM Friday at the Funeral Home with Fr. Mychailo Kuzma officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Twin Lakes.

Arrangements are being handled by the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home.
