Obituary for Marian Evelyn Nobles Marian Evelyn (Abbott) Nobles was born October 24, 1923 at home, 314 N. Burdick Drive in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Leo Richard and Jennie Agnes (Pierce) Abbott. Her childhood was spent in and around Kalamazoo and Galesburg, Michigan where she attended school. In 1939 while walking home from school she met Tony Gendhar, and they soon married on April 8, 1940, later divorcing in 1952.

In September 1954 Marian and her three youngest children at the time moved from Michigan to north Marion County settling in Broadacres. In 1959 Marian met Jim Nobles through friends who knew him from mutual participation in a band – they married on January 30, 1960 settling in Woodburn; Sadly, Jim later died the same year. Marian worked primarily on farms and in canneries until the 1970s when she started working for Tektronix in Wilsonville, retiring in 1988.

She genuinely enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being a homemaker, and was an avid fan of soap operas, particularly Days of Our Lives. Marian will be missed dearly by her family – She is survived by her daughter Lyn Broadhurst, sons Jim (Laura) Gendhar and Steven Nobles all of Oregon; Sisters Helen Williams and Sharon Bowman both of Michigan, and many grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her sons: Tony in 2004, Mike in 2010, and Dan in 2012; Her brother LaVerne in 1992 and sister Frieda in 1997.

In her celebrated 94 years, she leaves the legacy of having been the grandmother of 18, great grandmother of 25, and great, great grandmother of 5 at the time of her passing. A celebration of life is planned.
