Marian’s Obituary Marian Faye Luchtenburg, 90, of Kennybrook Village in Grimes, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born September 28, 1928 in Holland, Iowa, the daughter of Richard W. “RW” and Dena (Sealman) Kiewiet. Marian married Frank John Luchtenburg on August 12, 1948 in Holland.

He preceded her in death on November 19, 2015. Marian graduated from Grundy Center High School and taught at country school for several years. She also was an Avon consultant and later worked at Younkers Dept.

Store. Marian was a founding member of Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls. She is survived by her son, Mark (Cindy) Luchtenburg, of Cedar Falls and her three daughters, Carol Weaver of West Des Moines, Iowa, Kim (Kerry) Shackelford of Grimes and Lisa (Peter) Mueller of Ankeny, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a brother, Don Kiewiet, and two sisters, Wilma Wolthoff and Joyce Robertson. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Orchard Hill Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before the service at the church.
