OBITUARY MARIE MILES September 21, 1929 – October 13, 2018 Marie Avonell Miles, 89, died Oct. 13, 2018. Along with her husband Gene, she owned and co-operated Gene Miles Development Company, bred and raced Appaloosa Horses, and farmed near Garden Plain.

Marie was a devout wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was always generous and kind. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene; daughter, Cathy Underwood; sister, Lora Belle Johnson; niece, DeAnn Stephens; and nephews, Paul Miles, David Miles, and Matthew Thompson.

She is survived by daughter, Marlene Miles, sister, Mary Clare (Allen) Goodwin; and grandson, Miles (Holly Goodman) Underwood; nieces, Maureen (Ken), Iris, and Marcella Miles; nephews, Jeff, Larry (Helen), and Gale Miles. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018, and Funeral Service 1 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2018, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Memorial donations may be made to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside St. Wichita, KS 67219, or 47th Street Church of Christ, 601 W. 47th St. S. Wichita, KS 67217.

The family thanks the staff of Reflection Living’s Rosie House for their compassionate care over the last 5 years.
