Marilyn J. Falkenrich, age 92, passed away on January 11, 2019. She was born in her grandmother’s home in Ashland, Ohio on July 22, 1926. The family soon returned to their home in Barberton.

She was a life-long resident of Barberton. Growing up she attended Moore Memorial United Brethren Church. She graduated from Barberton High in the class of 1944 and went to work in the B&W offices.

It was there that she met her future husband, Lyle Falkenrich. They were married in 1949 and she transferred to his church, First Methodist (now Lakeview UMC). They enjoyed bowling, hiking and taking bus trips.

They supported Barberton sporting events for many years. They were very active in their church and she served as secretary of the church for many years after raising their family. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Nellie Stelzer, her husband, Lyle, son Bruce and his wife Aretia, sister and brother-in-law Wilma and Jerry Lowry.

She is survived by daughter, Jo Ann (Bob) Ruddock, son Larry (Kathy) Falkenrich, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 4-6 pm and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave. , Barberton 44203 with Pastor Fred Higgins officiating.

Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Akron. Memorials may be made to Harbor Light Hospice or Lakeview United Methodist Church.
