Mario R. Moreno, age 70 of Hammond, IN passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Martha Moreno; 6 children: late Alejandro Rene (Rocio) Moreno, Luisa Rodriguez, Linda (Juaquin) Valdez, Juan C. (Carmen) Moreno, Samuel Rodriguez and Ricardo J. (Jessica) Moreno; 6 grandchildren: Angel, Alexus, Alejandro, Diego, Vincent and Evalina: 1 great grandson, Aleks; 4 brothers: Juan, Gilberto, and Hector; 5 sisters: Rosa, Silvia, Diana, Liz and Ludevina; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria Moreno; brother, Pablo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Casimir Church, 4340 Johnson Avenue, Hammond, IN with Rev. Stephen Gibson officiating. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, IN.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd. , East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, July 6, 2018 and from 9:30 am until time of Mass at the Church on Saturday morning. Mario was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many.

He lived his life with dignity and respect, and is a model for future generations to follow. His life’s work was as a Senior Craneman at Arcelor Mittal Steel Company where he dedicated 47 years. Mario had a kind heart and was a very generous person who loved travelling and caring for others.
