Marion “Birdie” Thurlow, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018, in the Seasons Hospice Unit of Christiana Hospital. She was 89. Marion was born May 28, 1928, in Stafford, Connecticut, and spent most of her life in Delaware.

She was very creative, and enjoyed doing arts & crafts. Marion also enjoyed spending time with her cats, and was a very good cook. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Col.

Robin Thurlow(2009) and her son, Gary Thurlow(2015). Marion is survived by her son, Chris Thurlow & wife, Adrienne, of Townsend; a daughter, Laurie D. Myers, of Newark, DE; brother, Howard West, of San Diego,CA. ; sister, June Smith, of Pensacola, Florida; 6 grandchildren, Brian, Scott, & Dawn Osburn; Bob, Debbie & Samantha Thurlow; and 4 great-grandchildren, Lily Thurlow, Jude, James, and Liam Osburn.

Services will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First State Animal Clinic/Kent County S.P.C.A. , 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, De 19934.
