Marion Jeanne Anderson Lessey March 24, 1928 ~ November 28, 2018 Marion Jeanne Anderson Lessey, age 90, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Born the second of three children in Ogden, Utah, Marion was born on March 24, 1928 to Cervantes Anderson and Melba Strange Anderson. Growing up in the Ogden area, she graduated from Ogden High in 1946.

She was a proud Ogden Tiger. She married Richard Lessey Sr. on April 26, 1947 and had two sons, Richard and Robert. Marion worked in the credit department at Sears for 26 years.

She was also very active in the community where she was a Primary teacher for 8 years at the Deaf and Blind School in Ogden and serving 36 years on the Weber County Mosquito Abatement Board of Trustees representing Washington Terrace. She had the opportunity to be the first woman President on the Mosquito Abatement Board. Marion loved to travel.

Yellowstone and Europe were her favorite destinations. She also enjoyed taking care of her horses and her weekly golf games with her friends. She treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

They brought her unmeasurable joy. Her grandchildren’s favorite memories were of spending individual time with her for both birthday and Christmas shopping. She made each of them feel special and loved.

She is survived by her two sons, Rick (Lorna) Lessey and Robert (Leila) Lessey; grandchildren, Chad (Amber) Lessey, Jennifer (Dirk) Grow, Brody (Iesha) Lessey, Katy (Brett) Russell, Krystal (Cameron) Warnick, Amber (Darin) Price, Tarrah Stout, Stevon (Brooke) Bailey, Michelle (Byron) Hicks, Krista Bailey, Heather Bailey and Arriane Nonan along with 28 adoring great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sister, Faye Atwood, her brother Clifford Anderson and daughter-in-law, Cathy Lessey. A special thank you to the caring staff at Family Tree and Comfort Worx Hospice for their love and compassion they showed to Mom over the last 3 years.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Ogden City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
