OBITUARY Marion Martin Phillips September 20, 2018 – September 26, 2018 Marion Martin Phillips, 84, of Phenix City, AL, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, AL, 36867. The family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Reverend Steve Pace will be officiating. Mrs. Phillips was born September 20, 1934, in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Alton Edward and Annie Smith Martin. She was a resident of Phenix City most of her life and lived for a brief time in Auburn.

She worked for C.B. & T in the customer service department and retired after 15 years of service. Following retirement, she worked for Mercy Medical Clinic in Auburn. Mrs. Phillips was a member and a past board member of C.F.A. (Wynn House) and a past board member of the Columbus Symphony.

She was a Master Gardener and a proud member of the Summerville Garden Club. Mrs. Phillips also volunteered many hours with the Wynn House and the Baker High School Reunion Association and was a faithful member of Summerville Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Phenix City. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Phillips, Sr., and her second husband, Gus Walker.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Martha Ann Patterson and her brother, Charles Martin. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her son, Roy H. Phillips, Jr., and his wife, Laura of Woodstock, GA; her daughters, Anne Fry and her husband, William of Columbus, GA, and Marian “Patti” Malone and her husband, Michael of Auburn, AL; Her grandchildren, Martin Phillips, Rebekah Phillips, Lauren Kemmer Carter (Alex), Richard Kemmer III (Becky), James Michael Malone (Lori), Annie Malone Siqueira (Erick), Abbie Malone Pickens (David), Jesse Malone Ferreira (Marcelo); a very special friend, Rosa Jones. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association, www.
