Marion “Myrt”‘s Obituary Marion ”Myrt” Kienlen, age 88 of St. Peter, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Catholic Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with burial at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the start of the service on Saturday at the church.

The Rosary will be said at 10:00 am for those wishing to join. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. www.

saintpeterfuneralhome.com Marion Cecelia was born on September 9, 1930 in Cleveland to John B. and Florence (Meyer) McCabe and is a 1948 graduate of Cleveland High School. On September 4, 1950 she was united in marriage to Christus Kienlen at the Church of the Nativity in Cleveland, MN. Marion worked for many years as a Nicollet County Clerk of Courts in St. Peter.

Myrt was an active member of the Church of St. Peter; volunteering at the Thrift Store, serving on the funeral lunch committee, working at the Fall Festival and was a “Peter’s Pie Lady”. She enjoyed celebrating her Irish heritage and was proud to be chosen St. Patrick’s Day Queen in 2003. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Pocahontas Osceola Council #30 in St. Peter.

Myrt is survived by her children: Joe (Teresa), Tom (Fran) and Kris; daughter-in-law Janet Wettergren; grandchildren: Jeff and Jennifer Wettergren, Kevin (Christina) and Emily (LeeRoi) Jointer, Matt (Michelle) Bergren, and Justin and Bradley; great grandchildren: Wyatt Wettergren, Cameron, Wesley and Harrison Kienlen, Avalee Jointer and Blake, Sage and Bode Bergren; sister Harriet Schmidt; sisters-in-law: Maureen “Rene” and Rita McCabe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve in 1981; husband Chris in 2013; brothers: John (Iome), Emmet, and Francis “Bud”; and brother-in-law: William Schmidt.
