Obituary for Marjorie D. Boyle Marjorie Dunlap Boyle Age 91, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Loving mother of Priscilla (Jerry) Portenier; grandmother of Lisa Alexander and Nathan Fall; great-grandmother of Terrence and Tyler Alexander; sister of Joanne Dunlap, Elizabeth Dunlap Settle and John A. Dunlap; and daughter of Harry W. Dunlap, Jr. and Julia (Aspinwall) Dunlap. Marjorie was well known and very appreciated for her gardening skills and knowledge.

As a Master Gardener, she faithfully volunteered many years as a docent at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and the Highland Park Garden Club. Marjorie dedicated an outstanding career to the faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Philosophy Department at the University of Pittsburgh. As a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and a prolific knitter, she produced many items for their shawl ministry.

She also knitted for the Rodef Shalom congregation where her creative children sweaters were know and loved as “works of Art”. Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Memorial donations may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
