Marjorie Dolores (Lofton) Towsley, first child of William O. and Francis Lofton was born on June 11, 1938, in Raymondvile, Texas and passed away on May 1, 2019 surrounded by family at home in Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents. Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Robert (Bob) Towsley; son, Charles Vincent (Kelly) Hancock; daughters, Sherilyn (Gary) Gibbs; Jonnice (Danny) Grentz and grandchildren; Carissa and Christina Gibbs, Carter and Lauren Grentz, and Devon Collier.

Margie will also be lovingly remembered by her six siblings; Gwen Lofton, Edward (Shirlene) Lofton, Sharon (Sonny) Truitt, Judy (Burney) Tompkins, Rickey (Janet) Lofton and Wanda (Dean) Wilson and nieces and nephews. Margie received her RN from Madison College School of Nursing in 1962 and continued her education at the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia, receiving a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) degree in 1966. Her career included time in various locations including Lafayette,Louisiana, San Marcos, Texas, Seminole, Texas and Rome, Georgia where she spent 12 years working at the Floyd Hospital, until retirement in 2008.

Margie was spunky and fun-loving; she dearly loved her family, her work family and her church family. She will be greatly missed until Jesus comes, and the family gathers with our Saviour beneath the Tree of Life. What a joyous reunion that will be.

A memorial service was held for Margie at her home church in Rome, Georgia on Sunday May 5, 2019. Our God is so good and so wise that Margie and her family trusted Him to do what was needed most for her and for each of us. What an awesome God who makes no mistakes and loves us each with an everlasting love.
