Marjorie Ferne Rector, 100, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018. She was born in McArthur, Ohio on November 27, 1918 to the late William and Stella Thomas. Marjorie was a resident of Barberton for 65 years and retired from Bozins IGA.

She was a lifetime member of the Barberton First Church of Christ, where she served as a Deaconess, helped in the nursery and sang in the choir. Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edward T.; grandson, Dennis Braman; brothers, Leslie, Charles, William and James Thomas; and beloved bird, “Spunky”. She is survived by her sons, William (Beverly), Kenneth (Janet) and Charles (Rebecca); daughters, Sandra (David) Blough and Donna (Lawrence) Barton; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 16th at 4 p.m. at Barberton First Church of Christ, 552 Harvard Ave. , Barberton with Russ Shreiner officiating. Marjorie’s family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service.

Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant Pointe for all the love and care Marjorie received. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Barberton First Church of Christ.
