Obituary for Marjorie Fortier GRAFTON: Marjorie M. (Briand) Fortier, 89, of Wallingford, CT passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Masonic Health Center in Wallingford, CT. Marjorie was born July 23, 1929 in South Grafton, MA, the daughter of Stephen and Stephanie (Stella Korona) Briand. She married Robert J. Fortier on July 25, 1953 who predeceased her on October 3, 2017.

Marjorie graduated from Grafton High School in 1947. She attended and graduated from University of Massachusetts, 1951. Prior to her retirement, Marjorie was a foods and nutrition teacher at South Windsor High School in Connecticut.

She was also a national award-winning cooking contestant. Marjorie was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed gardening, and traveling with her husband. She will be missed by her 4 children, Stephen (wife, Vanessa) Fortier, Richmond, VA, Denise Fortier, East Berlin, CT, David Fortier, Glastonbury, CT, John Fortier (Joanne) Wethersfield, CT; grandchildren, John Monaco, Laurie (husband, Danny) Santana, Chloe and Simone Fortier; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Leona Santana; cousin, Marsha Korona, Godchild, Janis (husband, Jimmy) Clark, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday October 6, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:30am at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, MA 01536. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am at St. James Church, 89 Main St., South Grafton, MA 01560. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery Grafton, MA.
