Obituary for Marjorie Rose Himes (Stokes) Print Marjorie Rose Himes, 90, passed away in her Camp Hill home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday February 8, 2019 after a 13-year illness. She was born at home in Andersonburg, PA, on November 14, 1928 to the late Neff F. Stokes and Clara E. (Ricedorf) Stokes. Margie graduated with the 1947 class of John Harris High School, Harrisburg, PA.
She was then employed by the Commonwealth of PA before becoming a full-time wife and mother. For a few years, she worked part-time at the former EJ Korvettes store in the Camp Hill Mall. During her senior years, she volunteered for the Republican Committee.
Margie was proud to claim her Perry County birthplace, her move to Harrisburg in her teen years, and especially proud to reside in the same Camp Hill Borough home since 1956. Surviving are Richard M. Himes, her husband of 69 years, who gave her extraordinary care; three loving daughters, Linda M. Wertz (Daniel), of Camp Hill, Jacalyn C. Berry, of Cogan Station, and Brenda E. Himes, of Lewisberry; three grandsons, and one-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie G. Smith.
There will be no public services. Margie’s final resting place will be in the Columbarium of the Camp Hill Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill.
