Mark A May, Age 49, a resident of Pendleton, Or passed away at his home on June 14, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 28th, 1969 to Ron May and Deborah Shippentower in Pendleton, Oregon. Mark was a strong man with a big heart.

He was a father figure and mentor to many young people. He was wise beyond his years and had a gift for quick wit. Mark loved the outdoors and his happy place was in the mountains.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and sitting around the campfire telling stories. Mark enjoyed studying about his Norwegian heritage and the Viking lifestyle. His handmade Viking fighting gear and participated in SCA encampments in the past.

As a talented artist, he drew and painted many pictures that adorn walls today. He worked for Wildhorse Casino as the Security Shift Manager for the past 10 years and enjoyed teaching others the officer role. Mark fought his brief illness with a bravery that was unsurpassed.

Our warrior will never be forgotten, and he will be missed by many. He is survived by the love of his life Su chun(Amy) Li, his parents Ronald May (Georjene) and Deborah Shippentower (LeeJay), siblings Lori Warneking (Craig), Douglas May (Nora), Angela Stewart(Brian), and Kola Thompson (Tommy), children Ella May and Makenna Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life will be held at the Wildhorse Casino and Resort on July 28, 208 at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, you may wish to contribute to the American Cancer Society in his name.
