Mark Daniel Freier, 66, of Morgantown, went to be with Jesus April 13, 2018. He was born December 2, 1951 in Sewickley, PA to the late Harry and Phyllis Thomas Freier. He graduated Quaker Valley High School, and Drexel University before earning his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

He was employed by Westinghouse, KRW Energy Systems, and finally, the NETL in Morgantown. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet; a son Matthew; two brothers, and three nieces. A hard worker, in his spare time, he enjoyed building, repairing, and collecting things and loved a good flea market.

He had a great sense of humor. A private burial is planned for Sewickley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made towards Alzheimer’s disease research.
