Obituary for Mark M. Weiss Weiss, Mark M. passed away peacefully and suddenly on tuesday Dec. 4, 2018. Mark enjoyed a blessed life.

A 56 year marriage to his beloved Blanche that is one for the record book. Mark was born in Philadelphia on Nov. 28, 1929.

Born to parents, Flora and William Weiss. After school he helped his parents at their Sundry & Soda Store. At age 10, Mark’s entrapanural passion came to life.

After his early years he moved to California. He became a member of the California National Guard. His entire National unit got shipped to Korea to help the Korean conflict from 1950-1952.

Among his many positions he was in the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH) while in Korea. He received many metals while in active service and received an honorable discharge. Returning to Miami Beach, Mark went to business school and became a court reporter.

He went on to be a court reporter for over 30 years. From 1954-1957 he went back to Korea as a civilian court reporter. Mark worked for The Pentagon, Washington D.C. as well.

He met his wife, Blanche, when her father introduced them in Miami. After one month of dating he proposed, and three months later they were married. It was a whirlwind courtship.

Blanche and Mark made a spectacular life together in Miami Beach. He believed Miami Beach was his “south sea paradise” Mark and Blanche created a 40 year, very successful mail order business. Writing and selling how to, free things, and government benefits and services books.

Mark, Blanche, and his father worked side by side for many years and it was a dream come true. They wrote and published over 100 books. Mark was a active member of the American Civil Liberties Union (A.C.L.U.

) serving on the Board of Directors. He was a loyal member of Temple Beth Sholom for 56 years. Mark’s hobbies and passions included; Being an avid lap and ocean swimmer, daily exercise, disco dancing three times a week with his beloved Blanche, and going on over 30 cruises.

He was a voracious reader, reading several newspapers a day. Together Mark and Blanche had two daughters, Michelle Lynn and Deborah Lori. They have two grandchildren, Jeremy William and Seneca Emery.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his brother, Edward Weiss (Nancy), his daughters, Michelle Lynn and Deborah Lori (Jonathan). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday Dec. 9, 2018, at 2:30 pm, at Temple Beth Sholom 4144 Chase Ave Miami Beach, Florida.
