Marquita Jeanene Boyer March 14, 1944 – April 12, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Marquita Jeanene Boyer, 75, of Tri-Lakes, passed away peacefully at her home at 11:02 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019. She was born March 14, 1944 in Elwood, Indiana, a daughter of Lloyd D. and Loretta J. (Dever) Singer. As a young girl, the family moved to Phoenix, AZ where she attended Papago Elementary School.

She graduated from Coronado High School in Scottsdale, AZ in 1962. On November 19, 1976 she was united in marriage to Jack Roger Boyer. Family was her priority and she enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

She is remembered for her cooking and baking skills, making the wedding cakes for her children. A talented and accomplished quilter, she has an exceptional quilt that took 3 years to craft. She liked the outdoors either tending her gardens or fishing on the lake.

Even in her waning years, she took pride in making her family laugh. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jack; a daughter, Michele R. (Dave) Baxter, Granton, WI; two sons, Aaron L. (Bethanie) VanCamp, Cincinnati, OH and Todd A. (Holly) Boyer, Columbus, OH; a step-son, Jerry L. Boyer, Fort Wayne; two step-daughters, Janell L. (Ted) Nettles, Charleston, SC and Julie L. Laytham, Monroe, NC; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her father, Lloyd D. Singer; and a sister, Linda Webb, both of Sun City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta and a sister, Karen Davenport and a brother, Danny.

The funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial is at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Visitation is 10:30 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the Mission Society at the Columbia City Church of the Nazarene.
