Marshall Moore, Jr. December 22, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Marshall Moore, Jr., 96, affectionately known as “Papa,” transitioned into Eternal Rest on Saturday, December 22, 2018, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was born on August 11, 1922, to the late Marshall Moore, Sr., and Mattie Woods Moore, in Marion, Alabama. He attended school in Perry County, AL.

He later relocated to Youngstown, Ohio. Marshall was an Army Veteran. He opened Best Way Dry Cleaners in the city of Youngstown, which was the first Black-owned dry cleaners in the city.

Marshall later retired from General Fireproofing. He is preceded in death by his son, Richard A. Moore, Sr., and his longtime companion, Vivian Washington. Left to cherish his precious memories are his daughter Carmellia Clay; his grandchildren, Richard “Rick” Moore (Angie), Dolores “Dede” Moore and Shelbi Clay; great-grandchildren, Richard J. Moore and TaShai Cheeseman; and other loving relatives and caring friends.
