(Payton) Lyons, 71, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. She was born May 31, 1947 in Wheeling a daughter of the late Charles F. and Wilma (Pearsol) Payton. Martha was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry.

Surviving are her husband, Sherman Lyons, children; Kathy Howell of Martins Ferry, Rachel (James Roth) Scott of Belmont, OH and Lisa A. Scott of Newark, OH, a sister, Mary (Edward) Wagner of Yorkville, OH and grandchildren; Cameron and Logan Smith. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at the First Christian Church, 710 S. Zane Hwy. , Martins Ferry, OH at 10:00 a.m. with Minister Rod Kasler officiating.

Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Project Forward Fund. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this posting.
