Obituary for Martha Jane Owen “Jane” Jarvis Martha Jane Owen Jarvis,90, of Irvington, Virginia passed away on March 17, 2019, wife of Henry Morris Jarvis. She was born on September 6, 1928 in Rochelle, Wilcox County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Owen and her mother, Mary Elizabeth Salter Owen Willis.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Clark Jarvis and wife, Susan Lucke Jarvis; granddaughters, Margaret Lindsey Jarvis and Sarah Slee Jarvis; nieces and nephews, Deborah Owen Claxton, Terri Owen McClintock (Dennis), Donald Scott Owen (Jacqueline Pelton), Willis Kent Linares (Carol) and Lisa Janine Linares Wagenseller (Trent) and great nieces and nephews, Amy Thompson Lebron, Stephen Waccholz, Anna Grace McClintock, Maeve Pelton-Owen, Conor Pelton-Owen, Moira Pelton-Owen, Ryan Andrew Linares, Patrick Linares, Anissa Mulvoy McLin, John Mulvoy, Casey Daniel Jones, Ethan Wagenseller; great -great nieces and nephews, Mia Lebron, Giana Lebron, Michael Mulvoy, Kelley Bell Velazquez, Kyle Bell, Jayden Linares, Chloe Parker Linares, Owen Linares, Lacey Ann Linares, Andrew Willis Linares; and great great great nephews, Zachariah Velazquez, Nasir Velazquez, and Armani Bell. She was the eldest of four children of whom preceded her in death, Ernest Harris Owen, Earl Donald Owen and Mary Louise Owen Linares. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Morris Jarvis; step-father, George Elbert Bogart Willis; niece, Marja Linares Mulvoy and great nephew, Willis Kevin Linares.

She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Kilmarnock, Virginia where she served as lay reader, chalice bearer and a member of the choir. Jane was also a member of White Stone Women’s Club and a docent and receptionist at Historic Christ Church. She was previously a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church , Richmond, Virginia where she served as lector, chalice bearer, member of the Vestry, Senior warden and a choir member.

Jane volunteered as a reader at the Virginia Voice for the Print Handicapped for 19-20 years. She did all sorts of chores and services for her friends at the Barksdale Theater. She made costumes for the theater, for the Richmond Ballet and sewed for most anyone who needed help.

Jane was also a quilter and a knitter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Grace Episcopal Church, Kilmarnock, Virginia. Interment will be private at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.
