Adams passed away on December 15, 2018 in Chico, California at the age of 99. She was born in Washta, Iowa on March 11, 1919 to John and Agnes Johnson who immigrated from Sweden. She graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1936 and attended Grand Island Business College in Nebraska.

Martha moved to Washington DC after college to work for the Navy Department as a clerk stenographer and later worked at Hunters Point, CA. In 1942, she married Demerich Adams in San Francisco and moved to Chico in 1947. Martha was a very active member of Faith Lutheran Church and also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Chico.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband in 1983. She is survived by her son, Paul Adams of Butte Meadows, her daughter, Marilyn Cervantez (Ron) of Chico, three grandchildren: Rocky (Mary) of Petaluma, Randy of Chico, and Regina of Los Angeles. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Chase, Ava, and Elyse.

A memorial service is planned for Martha at Faith Lutheran Church on December 27, 2018 at 10:00 am. A private burial at Glen Oaks Cemetery will take place following the memorial service. A special thanks to BrightStar Home Care, Paradise FRH Pallative Care, Paradise Hospice and for all her friends at Faith Lutheran.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bidwell Chapel.
