Leesville—Funeral services for Martin Blackford, 90, of Leesville, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2350 Augusta Hwy. , Lexington, SC 29072 with Reverend Raymond J. Carlo officiating. Interment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.

Martin beloved husband of the late Mary Jane Muscia Blackford passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Wilmer K. Blackford and Loretta Cecilia O’Connell Blackford. Martin retired after many years of devoted service from Owen’s Steel Company, where he worked as a Draftsman.

He proudly served in the United States Navy. Martin was a member of the Elk’s Club and a devoted member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He moved to Lake Murray with his family in 1978, where they enjoyed many family outings.

He loved all animals. Surviving are his daughters, Diana Blackford, Barbara Blackford and Lisa Millard (James); brother, Donald Blackford; 3 loving grandchildren, Dakotah, Wyatt, and Tristan; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Coletta McCully.
