OBITUARY Martin L. “Shorty” Williams Jr. January 30, 1935 – October 10, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Martin L. “Shorty” Williams Jr, 83, of Fort Wayne passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. He was born on January 30, 1935 in Etowah County, Alabama, a son of the late Martin Luther and Martha Jane (Roebuck) Williams. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1960.

He liked to tell the story of how he served in the Army alongside Elvis Presley. He worked at Dana Corp. for 47 years.

Besides working very hard and being efficient he enjoyed spending time with his family. He also liked to garden. He loved sitting with his beloved dog, Logan and watching Alabama football.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce “Judy” Williams; sons, Barry (Kate) and Eric (Laura) Williams; grandchildren, Adam (Heidi), Cattie, Brennan (Kristine), Victoria, and Nicholas; and great-grandchildren Seth and Brianna. He was proceeded in passing by his siblings, Thelmer Walker, Idell Chambers, Roy, Nelson, Milton, Alvin, Eljo, and TL Williams. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd.

Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
