Graveside services for Mr. Marty Chapman, 70, of Jefferson, Texas will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday May 23, 2019 at Berea Cemetery with Pastor John Taylor officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. A time for visitation is scheduled from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday May 22, 2019 at Haggard Funeral Home in Jefferson, Texas. Mr. Chapman passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday May 19, 2019.

Marty Chapman was born December 2, 1948 in Orange County, California to Angus “Andy” Martin Chapman and Marie Louis Hopkins. Marty was a long time resident of Jefferson, Texas (Berea area) where he owned and operated Chapman Dozer Service, worked with many types of equipment, drove log trucks and did heavy hauling. However, Marty’s greatest passion was spending time with his loving family.

Preceding Mr. Chapman in death were his parents and brother, Lester Baggett. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Chapman; son, Tony Chapman and Wendy of Jefferson, Texas; daughter, Sonya Chapman of Bailey, Colorado; son, Dustin Chapman of Jefferson, Texas; granddaughter, Katie Chapman of Jefferson, Texas; grandson, Theo Soward of Bailey, Colorado as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Lohman, L.W. Powell, Jerry Powell, Quint Gale, Randal Powell and Terry Morgan.
