Obituary for Marvin Eugene Barker Marvin Eugene Barker, 74, Independence, Missouri, formally of Holden, passed away September 13, 2018 at St. Luke’s East, Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Marvin was born in Holden, Missouri July 11, 1944 to Willard Barker and Betty Jean (Cox) Barker. He attended school in Holden through the eleventh grade and shortly after leaving high school Marvin enlisted in the United States Army.

Marvin spent most of his adult life driving a truck with his last truck driving job being with CMT Trucking in Independence, Missouri. One of Marvin’s passions was riding motorcycles with his wife Carolyn. Marvin is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home; one son Marty Barker and wife Linda, Gladstone, MO; two daughters, Marsha Stansbury and Husband Eric, Holden, MO, Jannine Barker, Arma Kansas, one brother Joseph Barker, Nevada, MO, six Grandchildren, and eight Great Grandchildren.

Marvin was preceded in death by four brothers, Larry Barker, Donald Barker, Charles Barker, and Roy Barker. Memorial contributions can be made to the Brotherhood For Children KC in memory of Marvin Eugene Barker. Visitation will be Thursday September 20, 2018, 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home Funeral Services will be Friday September 21, 2018 at 2:00pm at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at the Kingsville Cemetery.
