Marvin Hoffman, age 81, of DeMotte, IN passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Vibra Hospital of Northwest Indiana. Marvin was born December 10, 1937 in DeMotte, Indiana the son of Benjamin and Edith (Evers) Hoffman. He attended DeMotte public schools, was a farmer, a bus driver for 26 years and worked for the Parks Department in DeMotte for 9 years.

Marvin was a member of the First Reformed Church at Dutch Corners. He enjoyed collecting and shooting guns, loved history of World War II, and spending time talking to friends and family. Marvin is survived by his children: Cary (Kris) Hoffman of DeMotte, IN; Lori O’Brien of DeMotte, IN; David (Sheila) Hoffman of DeMotte, IN; 7 grandchildren: Amanda, Sara, Matt, Hillary, Hayley, Dan, Sean; 8 great-grandchildren: Cadee, Maris, Alex, Raylynn, Deegan, Vinny, Oliver, Cohen; sisters: Jane Fisher, Betty Hoffman, and sister’s-in-law Martina Hoffman and Kathleen Hoffman.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Howard Hoffman and Dale Hoffman, sister: Ethel Mae Nannenga. Friends may visit with the family at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 2:00 – 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Immanual United Reformed Church of DeMotte on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10:30 am.
