Obituary for Marvin L. Park Marvin Leon Park, 82, of Liberal, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home. He was born on October 20, 1935 to Earl and Mina Park ( Harris ) at Cunningham, KS. On October 20, 1956 he married Joe Ann Urist at Phillipsburg, KS; she preceded him in death on August 21, 2018.

Marvin was a graduate Cunningham High School; class of 1953. After high school Marvin went to work in the oilfield where he moved around with work to Colorado, Nevada and Wyoming; while in Wyoming he met his wife Joe Ann. Shortly after marrying Joe Ann they lived in Phillipsburg, KS for one year before moving to Hugoton, KS.

Marvin and Joe Ann moved to Liberal with their children in 1962. He began working with Haliburton then went to work as a Truck Driver with Yellow Freight in 1968; from which he later retired from in 1994. While at Yellow Freight he received many safety awards including the “Million Mile Accident Free” award.

He enjoyed fishing, family vacations in the mountains of Wyoming, working on automobiles, motorcycles, auto racing and spending time with his family. Marvin is also survived by Son- Dennis Park and wife Paula of Liberal, KS; Two Daughters – Debbie Cypret and husband Danny of Lubbock, TX, Dee Dee Jones of Merriam, KS; Two Grandsons – Brett Cypret and wife Charlee of Lubbock, TX, Jordan Cypret and wife Laurie of Lubbock, TX; Granddaughter- Kayla Johnson and husband CJ of Quinter, KS; Four Great Grandsons- Kyler Johnson, Kahne Johnson, Vincent Cypret, Harley Cypret; Great-granddaughter- Kendyl Johnson. He was also preceded in death by Three Brothers and Four Sisters.

There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be 11:00AM Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal The family suggests memorials to the American Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association in care of Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS 67905-0826.
